What to do if you're stuck
Most problems in Aubora show a message that says what's going on, and many fix themselves once the connection is back. This page lists the common messages first. If yours isn't there, it shows how to send us a report we can act on quickly.
1. Find your message
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A long pause on "Loading AI models…" | The models load once per launch | Wait: photos start processing once they're loaded |
| "Offline, waiting for the connection" | Aubora lost the connection to your storage and paused | Nothing: it resumes on its own. If it keeps happening, click Retry now in the banner |
| "N photos couldn't be read yet" | A download failed (connection, or a file not available on the cloud) | Click Retry in the Library panel |
| Files counted as "Skipped" | Their format isn't supported, or they're RAW files left out by your settings | Nothing: skipped files aren't errors, and retrying won't change them |
| The library shows "No source" | No storage is connected to it yet | Open its Source & connection and connect one |
| A kDrive connection message | The token or the kDrive URL doesn't match | See the kDrive section of the quick start guide |
| Your license stopped working | It expired or couldn't be renewed | See My beta license expired |
| The first scan on kDrive is slow | kDrive limits requests per minute | Expected. The kDrive guide shows how to speed it up |
The technical FAQ explains each of these in more detail.
2. Quit and reopen Aubora
If something looks frozen, quit Aubora and open it again. It's safe: your index is kept, and a scan that was running starts again where it stopped. Nothing is downloaded twice.
3. Export the logs
If the problem is still there, the logs are what lets us find the cause.
- Open Settings → Advanced.
- In the About card, click Export logs.
- Aubora saves a
.zipfile in your Downloads folder and shows its name.
The logs contain file and folder names, but no passwords, access tokens, or photos. You can open the
.zip and read them before sending.
4. Write to us
Email contact@aubora.app with:
- the .zip of the logs;
- the version and build shown in the same About card;
- your computer: Mac with Apple silicon, Intel Mac, or Windows PC;
- your storage: kDrive, pCloud, Dropbox, or a local folder, and roughly how many photos;
- what you did, what you expected, and what happened, with a screenshot of the message if there is one.
That's usually enough to reproduce the problem without going back and forth.
Other cases
Export logs doesn't do anything.
Check your Downloads folder: the .zip is saved there even if the confirmation went by quickly. If
there's nothing, write to us anyway with the other details, and mention it.
Aubora won't open at all.
Write to us with your computer and the version you downloaded. Without the app, there are no logs to export, so describe what happens when you open it (nothing, a message, a crash).
